Each visit by the Catalonian choreographer María Muñoz to the Agora de la danse has met with much acclaim praising her inventiveness, her choreographic vigour and her humour. She is coming back for the third time to present Le cinquième hiver, a duo with Pep Ramis, with whom she co-directs Mal Pelo, one of the most important contemporary dance companies in Spain. The winter they survey in this piece is a fantastic, surrealist landscape. With clear movement and complicit commitment, they glow onstage. With playful scenes and strategies, they invert expectations. The maturity of these two bodies of unequalled solidity impresses with poetry and a fullness that only those who have lived it can truly convey.
