The table is set, yet it is silent, haunted by a question. What (else) does dance produce? Everyone must find their place. Then the sound of voices and the table comes to life.
The process is fleeting, resistant to taking shape. Words come together and multiply, creating a portrait of what we are. There is no show, but an endless play of mirrors. Ideas, texts, movement and noises enliven the strange ritual of being together.
ATTABLER is the result of a series of interdisciplinary seminars attended by dance professionals and visual artists at Agora de la danse over a two-year period, a series initiated by Katya Montaignac. These informal experimentations included workshops, lectures and discussions, and led to rich exchanges about open-ended themes: performance, identity and resistance in art. Combining feminist, philosophical and aesthetic approaches, the project followed up on experiences shared during the exploratory process involving artists and researchers: Mathieu Beauséjour, Marie Béland, Nans Bortuzzo, Claudia Chan Tak, Karine Denault, Julie Faubert, k.g. Guttman, Benoît Lachambre, Michelle Lacombe, Marie Mougeolle, Brice Noeser, Anne-Flore de Rochambeau, Victoria Stanton, Noémie Solomon and Liane Thériault.
ATTABLER places onstage a collaborative process, an extension of experimentations with a core group of artists and searchers: Emma-Kate Guimond, Hanako Hoshimi-Caines and Véronique Hudon, under the artistic co-directors Katya Montaignac and Nadège Grebmeier Forget.
