The difficulty is always the complexity of creating a solid, united group working toward a common goal. Placing individuality in service to a community remains a daunting challenge.
Vital Few focuses on this struggle for harmonious coexistence by connecting the voices of each of the six dancers, integrating their authenticity, accepting success and failure and taking variables into account such as stamina, fatigue or the unpredictable – the necessary mechanics of all bodies with unstable hearts.
605 evokes the organic desire to belong to something greater than oneself, and that quest multiplies the avenues of exploration. A language develops based on the vocabulary of each individual, and a moving sculpture of the group body emerges from an amalgam of contemporary and urban dance. This dynamic, playful choreography is presented with exemplary mastery of technique.
