UQAM's Dance Department offers all sorts of avenues in contemporary dance to its students. Bachelor of Arts degree, Advanced studies degree, Master’s or Doctorate degree in hand, one can begin a career as a dancer or a choreographer. Those who have an interest in education will be able to teach to primary and secondary students. Personal coachings also help dance artists and professionals improve their skills. Performing classes, from the Bachelor of Arts program, enable students to work on their artistic qualities. They can participate in the production and presentation of choreographic works from the repertoire of local companies and companies from abroad. Or participate in the creation and production of works by a choreographer from the Dance department or of a guest choreographer. Finally, the public can appreciate the talents of the young artists through actual performances that also serve to reflect the future of dance.
