Ebnflōh
How do we approach the different incarnations of a single life?
Discover Mōnad for the first time, or experience it again! A leading figure in Québec hip-hop dance, Alexandra “Spicey” Landé embodies Mōnad. From the ancient Greek monas, meaning “unity,” the term evokes a self-sufficient unicellular organism that contains multiple universes within itself.
Rooted in this essential material and in hip-hop culture, Spicey shapes a constantly shifting space where materials and sounds emerge, dissolve, and transform through interaction.
Mōnad offers a vibrant reflection on interconnected worlds, while questioning the notion of eternity.
Ebnflōh
Ebnflōh was born from my desire to explore and bring an original, authentic, and innovative Hip Hop choreographic language to contemporary stages. In 2015, I founded this dance company in Montreal, becoming a pioneer in Hip Hop dance research and creation.
Ebnflōh embodies an artistic movement in constant evolution, rejecting conventions in order to explore new frontiers of choreographic expression. My dynamic approach is shaped by the influence and inspiration I draw from my collaborators, creating an artistic space where authenticity and creativity are at the heart of my commitment.
Alexandra ‘Spicey’ Landé
Montreal-based choreographer and a major figure in Québec’s Hip Hop dance scene, her passion for this art form began in the 1980s when she was very young. The symbiotic relationship she maintains with Hip Hop culture in her choreographic work forms the essence of her artistic signature.
Driven to push her artistic aspirations further and bring street dance creation to contemporary stages, she founded the company Ebnflōh in 2015. She surrounds herself with trusted collaborators and peers who continuously nourish her creative process.
Today, through Ebnflōh, Alexandra “Spicey” Landé is building a choreographic language that is uniquely her own vision.
