Returning to Agora de la danse for a third time, LA TRESSE presents Miel, an ode to femininity in all its sweetness and strength: refined, delicate, powerful, nurturing.
Contrary to the traditional hero’s journey, Miel follows that of the heroine: a spiraling journey, both intimate and infinite. In a velvety setting, the three performers each embody an archetype of figures that are both singular and universal.
LA TRESSE returns here to its three-voice formula in a creation that transports and opens the door to the magical. Between embodied gestures and shimmering tableaux, the public glides from one world to another, guided by artists in constant metamorphosis, until everything merges in a golden alchemy: that of honey, a symbol of care, unity and transformation.
Founded in Montreal in 2014 by Geneviève Boulet, Erin O’Loughlin, and Laura Toma, LA TRESSE collective brings together three seasoned performers whose careers are deeply rooted in Montreal’s dance scene. These compassionate and sensitive women champion the vision of collective creation and innovate in their practices, forging new paths of possibility, both artistically and organizationally. Their works, at once poetic, mystical, and fully embodied, invite audiences to celebrate our humanity in all its complexity and beauty.
Their first works, Beauté Brute (2015) and Volume II (2016), have toured across Quebec and Canada. Partners of Agora de la danse since 2018, they have presented their workds, including L’Encre Noire (2019), KIN (2023), and, soon, Miel (2026).
