The interdisciplinary artist Antonija Livingstone, assisted by guest artist Stephen Thompson, invites spectators to experience a site-specific walkabout performance-installation entitled CHAUD.
Presented outdoors on Mayor Street between De Bleury and Place des Arts, the piece summons the elements: water, earth, smoke, manure and other organic materials, thus bringing nature into the heart of the urban environment. The focus is on the art of inhabiting a place, of questioning a territory, of sculpting space and time in the here and now. In Livingstone’s hands, these landscape tableaux, these collections and collages of things /actions / relations give rise to an unclassifiable performance that is reinvented every night in keeping with its volatile nature.
“…for a queer divine dissatisfaction: a blessed unrest…”
