Bouge Anyway is a “battle” between contemporary dance and urban dance. A visually appealing hybrid of genres, this unique tournament features some twenty duos engaged in competitions where improvisation reigns supreme. Short dance battles will follow one after the other, with participants trying to outdo each other in talent, grace and skill. A friendly confrontation where the best of both worlds come together, this is an exceptional opportunity to see dancers demonstrate unique know-how and eloquent movement. The enthusiasm of the participants will be sustained by a host well versed in the art of keeping the crowd in a state of excitement, accompanied by an experienced DJ who will also stoke the fires with dynamic music creating a hot ambience. Participants will be evaluated by a no-nonsense jury assigned the difficult task of determining the winners, for at the end of the evening only one team will remain on the dance floor to take home a cash prize of $300. Dancers will be judged particularly for their daring, their mastery of technique, their ability to take over the space and to win over an audience with an original performance. A new element this year is that after each contest, the participants and the audience will form a dance circle where, one by one, those who want to strut their stuff can hit the dance floor. The two most outstanding will then face off in a second demonstration just before the final bout, with the winner given a prize. With a DJ, dynamic dance teams, an emcee and a first-rate jury, it should prove to be a memorable evening. May the best dancers win!
