A woman emerges from the night, as though from hidden territory, her movements peering into time. Her fugitive body is at the limits of transparency. She wanders through a disintegrating world, an almost apocalyptic city. In this “the country of last things “, empty of meaning, she tries to survive.

Freely inspired by a Paul Auster novel, this striking work was created in 1994 by Lucie Grégoire and is being reprised on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of her dance company. This new presentation features Isabelle Poirier, a dancer known for her great intensity, in pursuit of the unflagging quest for identity that haunts the choreographer.

The hypnotic beauty of Lucie Grégoire’s dance is accompanied by music (by Robert M. Lepage) and lighting (by Alain Lortie) that embrace the dance, cloaking the stage with a cinematic atmosphere imbued with a veiled, heightened sensuality.

Lucie Grégoire Danse celabrates its 30^th anniversary.To mark the occasion, the company will be offering in conjunction with the performances, a retrospective exhibit in Agora’s Laboratoire.
