Back by popular demand, this is an opportunity to discover and perform the dances, sounds and rhythms of Jean-Pierre Perreault in workshops reserved exclusively for non-dancers. These classes are taught by Ginelle Chagnon, one of Perreault’s closest collaborators, working with the dancer and teacher Sophie Breton.
The choreographer Jean-Pierre Perreault and his seminal piece Joe are landmarks in the world of Quebec contemporary dance. This is a unique opportunity to slip into the skin of a dancer performing the piece during two workshops that focus on dance exercises and performance. Onstage at Agora de la danse you will don a raincoat, boots and hat, the emblematic symbols of this work for several dancers.
The workshops will conclude with a public presentation by participants of excerpts they have rehearsed. The show will be followed by a free screening (open to all) of the Bernard Picard film of the 1994 Radio-Canada co-production of Joe.
